Welcome back to another great year in the library! We have planned exciting lessons and new programs to entice the love of literature to our mighty Knights. Any questions you may have about reading programs or activities please do not hesitate to call the librarian, Mrs. Lunoff, or the library assistant, Mrs. Gallego. Let's have a great year of reading! 
Reading Programs
 
Super Reader Challenge
 
The Super Reader Challenge is for PreK to 3rd grade students. Students will read 100 different books independently at home or school! The books may be those that the student’s own, from the public library, teacher sent or checked out at the school library. PreK-1st students may be read until they feel comfortable reading on their own. 
 
Books will be logged into the Beanstack website https://robstownlotspiech.beanstack.com/reader365 or app to earn the reading degrees. A ceremony will be held at the end of the year to honor everyone who has received any of the following diplomas: 25 (Associates), 50 (Bachelors), 75 (Masters), and 100 (Doctorate) books.

Genre Challenge
 
The Genre Challenge is for 2nd to 3rd students. They will read five books in each of the following genres: Realistic Fiction, Biography, Scary, Humor and Fantasy. Students will need to do work on two different activities to earn a certificate of achievement on being a Genre Specialist.

STEAM/Makerspace Friday

In collaboration with 21st Century we are gearing up for an exciting new program to share with students. During the two hour session students are able to visit a variety of stations that have activities for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Math. Students will earn their way to the Makerspace sessions by being awesome students.
